President's speech disappointed people: Khursheed Shah

Islamabad: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Mr. Khursheed Shah said on Thursday that President Mamnoon Hussain’s address to the Parliament would have disappointed the people as it was written by the government in which only the performance of the government was praised whereas nothing was said regarding the benefit of ordinary people.

While talking to media persons after the joint session of the Parliament, he said that Pakistan possesses 10,000 megawatt electricity capacity but the government has not informed the President about it.

He also stated that the President talked about cricket whereas it would have been better if the matches were conducted elsewhere other than at Lahore.

Talking about the economy, Khursheed Shah said that despite the decline in interest rates people have not benefited whereas no step has been taken to control the population growth.

The opposition leader praised the Sindh government for deciding not to create any obstacle in implementing law and order in the province. Khursheed Shah reiterated that there is no second opinion on Operation Zarb-e-Azab and Economic corridor.

He also asked the government to call All Parties Conference (APC) on the matter of foreign policy in which the military leadership should also be summoned.
