LAHORE - The Lahore High Court Wednesday announced the result of examination held to fill 696 seats of civil judges-cum judicial magistrates but made it inaccessible for general public as result has not been published on LHC official website.

LHC has issued a press release, stating therein that result of written competitive examination for the 696 posts of Civil Judges-cum-Magistrates has been announced. The result is available on official website of LHC i.e.

The candidates can check their result to be qualifying for the interview by entering their national identity card numbers. All the qualified candidates have been directed to submit detail of their moveable/immoveable assets within a period of one week. Letters to the qualified candidates have also been issued, Press release further stated.

This means only a candidate could only get access to his result only by entering his ID card number. There is no mentioning of number of total candidates appeared in the exams and the number of candidates passed it.

Interestingly, names of three candidates have been mentioned in press release who were found involve in unfair means during the examination and they have been barred from appearing in any judicial competitive examination in future.

Legal circle has questioned non-publishing on result for public at large and termed it violation to access to information law.
