‘Fake’ shootout sparks protests



SIALKOT - The hundreds people held a protest demonstration in Fatehgarh here against what they said “extra-judicial killings in fake police shootouts”.
The relatives of accused Jameel alias Jeela said that the accused was killed in fake police shootout. They blocked the traffic for one hour on the main Defence Road and other link roads by burning tyres.
Carrying banners and placards, they chanted anti-police slogans. They demanded immediate registration of a murder case against all the responsible police officials.
The police handed over the dead body to the grieved family for burial after autopsy at the Daska DHQ Civil Hospital. Meanwhile, the protesters termed it an extra-judiciary killing, demanding an action against the police.
TRADER SHOT DEAD ON RESISTANCE: Trader Shehzad Ghani was shot dead while his friend Usman Aslam was injured seriously by three dacoits for offering resistance near an orchard of guavas near village Saahowal, Sambrial.
The victims were proceeding towards his house along with his family by a car. They were intercepted by the dcoits who had erected a barrier on the road. Shehzad offered resistance and the bandits opened fire on them, killing Shehzad Ghani and injuring Usman Aslam. The robbers looted gold ornaments, cash and electronics at gunpoint.
