KARACHI - Anisuddin Khan -  Two members of Bangladesh security team, assigned to assess security situation in Pakistan and to clear the way of Bangladesh team for its planned tour of Pakistan, visited the National Stadium to inspect security condition at Pakistan’s biggest stadium here on Saturday afternoon.

Imtiaz Hussain and Farrukh Zaman, two members of the delegation of Bangladesh cricket security team that arrived in Pakistan on Friday, flew in here along with PCB security manager Col Wasim and drove to the National Stadium which could be one of the venue where Bangladesh cricket team would play during its planned tour of Pakistan sometime in April if the team was given security clearance. DIG East Tahir Navaid along with a number of senior police officials was also present at the stadium.

The visiting security officials remained at the stadium for some time and visited the players dressing room, the main pavilion and stands around the ground. They also inspected the periphery of the stadium.

They were briefed about the arrangements which could be made for making the conditions secure. They were informed about the security arrangements made some two years ago for the Sri Lankan team that played here safely and comfortably before moving on to Lahore where the Lankan team was unfortunately attacked by terrorists.

The team members also inspected route that the visiting team would take from its hotel to the stadium if it come here. The visiting members are expected to meet Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wassan late Saturday evening. They would also hold meetings with the top Sindh police officials before returning to Lahore today (Sunday).
