SADIQABAD - The Supreme Court of Pakistan chief justice has said that to solve the lawyers’ problems is his top priority, pledging an all-out effort in this regard.
Talking to the Rahim Yar Khan District Bar Association president and general secretary during his son’s Walima ceremony, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that cooperation between the Bar and the Bench could make possible the provision of immediate justice. He said that litigants’ problems could be reduced by promoting professionalism.
The chief justice told the delegation the problems of the district lawyers had been brought to his notice and pledged to address their grievance on priority basis. He added that banking and consumers’ courts would also be set up in the district to ensure provision of justice for traders and consumers at their doorsteps.
The CJ mentioned that the district lawyers played a role of front line fighters in the judges’ restoration movement, saying that their role was unforgettable. Later, DBA president Sajid Feroz and General Secretary Syed Muhammad Bahu Shah invited the chief justice to the district and the CJ accepted the invitation and assured them that he would visit Rahim Yar Khan soon.
