LAHORE - Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Food and Environment, Muhammad Mansha Ullah Butt along with officials of Environment department conducted surprise visits in various parts of the city to inform the masses regarding the preventive measures from dengue virus here on Saturday.
The EPD officials under the supervision of Mansha Ullah Butt and Secretary Environment Sajjad Saleem Hotiana sealed two showroom warehouses at College Road Township for not adopting the precautionary measures regarding dengue. The squad found stagnant water in their appliances which were placed openly at the warehouses rooftops.
On the directions of Mansha Ullah Butt, the EPD officials issued notice to TMO Iqval Town after they found stagnant water in an under construction building’s basement at College Road.
They also visited various residences in Tariq Block, Katcha Jail Road and informed the masses regarding the preventive measures of dengue virus.
Secretary Sajjad Saleem also went to the local mosque where they briefed the locals of the area regarding the dengue virus.
He said that without the support of individuals dengue virus could not be eliminated so he urged them to coordinate with government officials to fight against dengue.
He asked the locals to adopt some simple methods which could easily save them from dengue mosquito. He stressed that stagnant water should be cleared on immediate basis besides clean water utensils should be kept covered.
Talking to media, Mansha Ullah Butt said that the entire activity of EPD officials was based on awareness. He said that the basic reason of this inspection was to aware the masses so that they could take necessary measures by their own selves.
He said that chief minister Punjab mission to eliminate the dengue would be accomplished very soon.
The squad also carried out fogging at all the places which they inspected. Director EPA Naseem Ur Rehman Shah, Dr Waseem Akram, head of research and development wing of Dengue, DDO Environment Muhammad Younas, Inspector Yasir Gull, and other officials of district government were also present on this occasion.
