CAIRO - A Cairo court is to restart the trial of foreign democracy activists on March 8, state media reported on Saturday, after the previous trial judges dropped out. The case against 43 defendants, including Americans who have mostly left the country, will take place in a Cairo criminal court on March 8, the official MENA news agency reported. The judges in the previous trial, which had opened last Sunday. Cairo appeals court head Abdel Moez Ibrahim had said that the controversial decision to lift a travel ban on the foreign defendants was taken after it became apparent the charges were misdemeanors.
