LAHORE – A brick kiln-worker was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Manga Mandi Police precinct on Saturday.
The deceased identified as Mohammad Ashraf had worked as Personal Assistant to the kiln owner Mohammad Jehangir for the past several years.
“He was coming back to his home when some unidentified assailants intercepted him and opened fire on him, which led to his instant death,” police investigators said, adding that the deceased had no enmity with anyone of the area.
Later, his body was removed to the City morgue for autopsy. An FIR has been lodged against unidentified culprits with no arrest till filing of this report. Further investigations are underway.
Speeding truck kills youth: A 15-year-old youth died in a motorcycle crash with an uncontrolled truck in Raiwind City police area on Saturday.
Police investigators said the deceased identified as Osama Iftikhar, nephew of journalist Hakeem Abdul Ghaffar Khan, along with his friend Bilal was riding a motorbike on Kahna Road when a truck hit them from the rear.
Resultantly, Osama sustained severe injuries and died at the spot whereas Bilal also suffered minor injuries.
Traffic wardens chased the aforesaid truck and arrested the driver of the truck.
Later, the body of the deceased boy was handed over to his bereaved family after completing necessary medico-legal formalities.
