LAHORE – Shahbaz Sharif has said that the revenue record of land will be maintained in “the most transparent and an organised manner” through a computerised system. He said that it will be a paradigm shift in revenue matters, which will greatly benefit the people.

He was presiding over a meeting regarding land record management and information system at Chief Minister’s Secretariat here on Saturday. Shahbaz said that people will get rid of corrupt mafia due to computerization of land record and forgery will be eliminated. He said that in this way people will also get relief from litigation of years together.

The meeting reviewed the progress of land record computerization project. Project Director of land record management and information system gave a briefing to the meeting about the project.

The CM said that the project of land record computerization hugely benefit the common man in getting the ownership deed “Fard-e-Malkiyat” and registration of transfer deed. Similarly, the people will also get rid of fake registration of properties. He said that the credit of launching land record management and information system goes to PML(N) which had started the project in 1998.

The CM disclosed that 89 Assistant Directors Land Record are being recruited through Punjab Public Service Commission for land record management and information system. He said that Management and Professional Development Department will provide training of various matters to these officers. He said that these officers will be imparted training of various professional matters and preserving the revenue record through modern methods during four months’ training so that they could serve the people in a better way.

The Chief Minister directed to constitute a committee comprising highly experienced officers for timely completion and making the process of computerization of revenue record transparent. He directed Commissioners and DCOs to extend full cooperation for the completion of land record computerization project.

Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Chairman Planning & Development, Senior Member Board of Revenue and DCOs of various districts including Lahore attended the meeting.
