LAHORE – Former PML-Q MNA Marvi Memon will formally announce to join PML-N on Sunday (today).

Elected on PML-Q ticket in 2008 elections, the former parliamentarian will meet PML-N President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at Raiwind today following which both will address the media persons wherein Marvi will formally make public her decision of joining the PML-N.

Learned and vocal on national and international issues, the former banker, Marvi Memon, belongs to Sindh. She is daughter of Nisar Memon, who was a federal minister in the PML-Q government during Musharraf era. Marvi quit the party and resigned from the NA membership last year after developing serious differences with the PML-Q leadership on latter’s decision to become a part of the Cabinet. Marvi resented the PML-Q decision which she then held, would amount to supporting the PPP policies and to share the brunt of bad governance and the corruption.

At the fag-end of 2011 after her meeting with PTI chief Imran Khan, it appeared as if she was going to join the PTI. However, she dispelled that impression developed at public level and straightway refused to join the PTI.

Now she has decided to join the PML-N where, as the party sources say, she is likely to get a significant role, particularly regarding management of the party affairs in Sindh.
