QUETTA - A bid to smuggle a huge quantity of heavy weapons to interior parts of Balochistan failed after the truck carrying weapons overturned near Chaman, a bordering town near Afghanistan, on Saturday.

According to sources, the truck was loaded with heavy and light weapons, covered with wood boxes and was heading to Quetta, when it overturned near Chaman after its tie-rod broke. As a result, the weapons spread on the road and the smugglers succeeded to escape from the scene. After the incident, the Levies personnel backed by other law enforcement agencies rushed to the site and cordoned off the area.  They took the weapons and truck into custody and started a search to arrest the escaped smuggler.
