LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has announced kicking off party’s election campaign for the general polls from Minar-e-Pakistan on March 23.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, he said the PTI would launch another tsunami from Minar-e-Pakistan on March 23 to end the status quo. Imran Khan said that the elected office bearers of the party would take oath at Minar-e-Pakistan garden which would be the formal start of PTI election drive.

Alleging President Asif Zardari and the PML-N top leadership for spending national exchequer on the advertisements to proceed their respective party election campaigns, he said that no gimmick or trick of the traditional political forces could stop the tsunami. Imran Khan said that the PTI has made history by holding intra-party elections across the country and the new leadership would now run the party’s election campaign.

He claimed that the PTI has spent 10 months on intra-party elections ensuring transparency in the party polls to set an example for the authorities which were assigned the task of holding general elections. The PTI chairman maintained that his party would follow strict discipline to accord party tickets only to the upright candidates which would definitely bring a real change. Earlier, Imran Khan was briefed by newly elected party’s city president Abdul Aleem Khan about the arrangements of party’s public meeting to be held at Minar-e-Pakistan on March 23.
