ISLAMABAD - Zohaib Gillani won the First National Chess Championship, which concluded here at Pakistan Sports Complex, Jinnah Hall on Sunday.
The championship was played under the theme "Play Chess...Promote Peace”. Zohaib was awarded Rs 20,000 cash along with a shield, runners up Dr Murtaza Ali got Rs 15,000 cash along with a shield, third-placed M Waqar received Rs10000 along with a shield fourth-placed Tanveer Gillani given Rs2000 and a shield and fifth-placed Dr Sadeem Lodi pocketed Rs 2000 and a shield.
