MULTAN : Over 13.32 million bales have reached ginneries across Pakistan by Mar 1, 2014, registering a 4.43 per cent increase as compared to the corresponding period last year.  Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to 13,328,667 bales reached ginneries till Mar 1 as compared to 12,763,657 bales’ arrival recorded during the corresponding period last year, says a fortnightly report issued by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) here on Monday. Report says Phutti equivalent to over 13.29 million bales have undergone the ginning process. Arrivals in Punjab were recorded at 9.57 million or 9,575,135 bales, exactly 2.13 per cent above the arrivals recorded during the corresponding period of last year.

 Arrivals in Sindh were recorded at 3.75 million or 3,753,532 bales, showing a surge by 10.8 per cent, as compared to last year.

Exporters have bought 363,394 bales while textile mills purchased 11.96 million or 11,966,299 bales, the report says.

 Over 998,974 bales are still with the ginneries as unsold stock till Mar 1, 2014.
