DASKA - Following the court orders, the Motra Police have registered a case against eight policemen of Jaamkey Cheema-Motra checkpost for kidnapping, dragging and torturing two youth and keeping them in illegal detention.

According to FIR (No96/2014) registered by the Motra Police on the application of a local trader Irfan Ahmed Butt under sections 147, 149, 342, 337 A-1, 337 F-1 and 337 F-5, ASI Usman Tanveer, Ansar, Irfan, Asad Sheikh, Sagheer Ahmed, Basharat Ali, Liaqat and Iftikhar deputed at patrolling police checkpost stormed into a hotel at Adda Motra and opened fire on Iftikhar and a local prayers leader Hafiz Aqeel on November 19, 2013.

Later, the policemen kidnapped them after hitting them with the butts of guns.  They took them to the checkpost where they tortured them by stripping off their clothes.

Locals rushed there and saved them from the policemen. The fingers of victim Hafiz Aqeel were also fractured during the torture.

The FIR revealed that the reason behind the incident was that the victims were proceedings against the police officials, who had taken Rs500 bribe from them.
