At least 10 persons including four women were killed and eight others injured in different incidents of violence, enmity and road mishaps over the past 48 hours.

According to details, in Sahiwal a 16-year-old youth namely Pervaiz, son of Riaz, a resident of Mauza Roshan Shahani situated in remit of Noor Shah Police, lost his life while cutting fodder in an electric machine. As per details, he was busy cutting fodder when accidently his hand came in the machine while pushing fodder. He failed to get free himself from the clutches of the machine and died instantly.

In Toba Tek Singh, a youth was crushed to death by a moving train here the other night. According to the City Police, deceased Malik Liaqat Ali of Chak 325/JB Dullam was crossing railway track near Chak 323/JB Trandi when suddenly Karachi-bound Pakistan Express Train, coming from Faisalabad, ran him over, killing him on the spot.

Similarly in Sargodha, a speeding truck trampled a motorcyclist to death, battering down the body behind recognition. The mishap happened near to General Bus Stand in the Satellite Town Police precincts. The dead body was shifted to hospital for medical legal proceedings. The truck driver managed to escape from the scene.

In Bahawalpur, 35-year-old woman committed suicide by drinking poisonous chemical over domestic dispute.

Kauser Bibi, a resident of Ghazipur near Rahim Yar Khan had differences with her husband due to which they often quarrel with each other. On Monday they again had argument over some issue which heated up and in sheer frustration, she committed suicide by drinking a chemical substance. Resultantly her condition turned critical and she was taken to the hospital but not survive.

Meanwhile, in Hafizabad, two persons were killed and two other injured in two different mishaps here the other day.

According to police source, Ghazanfar Ali, a resident of Burj Dara along with his mother and aunt was proceeding to Rah Bhobhara on a bike. When they reached on Sargodha Road near Mona Jhal, a speeding truck hit their bike as a result of which his aunt Safia Bibi died on-the-spot while he and his mother Aasia sustained serious injuries and were shifted to the hospital. The dead body has also been removed to the morgue for autopsy. The police have registered a case against the truck driver who sped away after the mishap.

In another incident, 30-year-old addict namely Sarfraz Ahmad, a resident of Chak No. 1 Zakhira Beranawala committed suicide by cutting his neck with an electric Saw blade.

The deceased was a chronic addict and had demanded money from his parents but on refusal he felt dishonoured. He went to the nearby Saw machine factory and allegedly cut off his neck with electric Saw blade.

The police have shifted the dead body to the Pindi Bhattian morgue for post-mortem.

In Sheikhupura, a woman was shot dead by rivals of her husband in her house located in village Bhalike in the remit of Safdarabad Police. According to details, four unidentified assailants entered the house of one Munir. He, however, was not present in the house at which the assailants shot dead his wife Irshad Bibi dead.

In another incident, eight-year-old Saqlain Mushtaq died after being run over by a train near Mohallah Ram Garah. The deceased was crossing railway track when unfortunately met with the accident. The B Division Police are looking into the mater.

Meanwhile, an unidentified bullet-ridded body of a youth was found lying in a field near village Nokrian. The body was spotted by some passersby who later informed the Housing Colony Police. The police took the body city morgue for autopsy. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.

On the other hand, the dead body of a young girl was found from Bambaanwala-Ravi-Baidian (BRB) Canal near village Bambaanwala-Daska here. According to local police, some unidentified accused brutally tortured the girl to death and threw her dead body into the canal to conceal their sin.

The activists of NGO Young Blood Foundation Daska fished out the dead body from the canal and shifted it to Daska Civil Hospital for autopsy.
