The civil society and public at large have complained about the supply of substandard flour to the market by some flours mills and urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of issue. As per details, local public circles including the civil society have regretted that the local flour millers with the connivance of administration were supplying substandard flour to the market. They alleged that the millers were using water more than the allowed ratio in the preparation of flour due to which flour starts sinking after a few days. They claimed that consumption of the substandard flour had been various stomach diseases, especially among the children who were from suffering diarrhoea. The people of the city appealed to Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the situation and order sample of flour from the all flour mills to ascertain its quality. They demanded stern action against the officials concerned for collusion with the millers at the cost of public health.

SCCI, INNER WHEEL JOIN HANDS: A delegation of Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry met members of Inner Wheel and Rotary clubs here. On the occasion, they discussed different issues of public interest and agreed to explore new venue for cooperation in different public welfare projects.

Later, Inner Wheel Club President Mrs Uzma Bashir said that it was decided in the meeting that the chamber would help the Inner Wheel Club in public welfare projects. She informed that the chamber and the club had agreed to start public welfare projects jointly.
