Islamabad- A seven-member Parliamentary Committee has been formed to investigate Member National Assembly Jamshed Dasti’s allegations about immoral activities at the Parliament Lodges in Islamabad.

According to various source, the body was constituted four days after Dasti presented before the journalists for the issue regarding empty liquor bottles recovered from alleys of the lodges.

But the same day, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan rejected Dasti’s allegations in the National Assembly. Dasti claimed that a number of parliamentarians were involved in immoral activities including private dance parties at the Parliament Lodges where liquor worth Rs 40 million to Rs 50 million was supplied. He vowed to present a video to prove his claims, demanding formation of an inquiry commission on the matter.

The committee includes Imran Zafar Laghari, Arif Alwi, Shahida Akhtar Ali, Sohail Mansoor, Rohail Asghar, Kazim Ali Shah and Mian Manan. The lawmakers were also directed to call Dasti for his statement.
