PSQCA hosts workshop

KARACHI (PR): The South Asian Regional Standards Organisation (SARSO) director general Dr Syed Humayun Kabir has addressed a workshop at Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA), Karachi.

He said the benefit of sharing ideas with highly learned, trade promotion organizations along with private entrepreneurs would certainly help SAARC counties in boosting the regional trade. Director General PSQCA Dr Barkat Saeed said it was an honour for PSQCA to hold the joint workshop with SARSO with the aim to focus on the importance of regional standardization activities and their implementation in enhancing regional trade.

Subway hosts free lunch for poor children

MULTAN (PR): Subway has again affirmed its commitment to help the needy by hosting a free lunch for the children of SOS Village Multan, which is celebrating its another year of helping humanity.

On this occasion, Subway Wapda Town, Multan Store hosted a free lunch and in-store celebrations for the poor deserving children/orphans being supported and sheltered by SOS Village Multan. It included serving healthy Subway food to 180 deserving children in total, from which 40 children at a time came to Subway Restaurant where they enjoyed a free meal and participated in various celebrations and activities. The activity will continue for 4 weeks covering 40 kids every Sunday.

Tara Group achieves milestone

LAHORE (PR): Tara Group Pakistan is a leading organisation of agriculture sector which has achieved a remarkable milestone by qualifying accreditation of its pesticides and fertilizer lab under international standard ISO/IEC 17025: 2005.

Tara Group chairman Dr Khalid Hameed said that it was a great pride for our company to achieve highest range of parameters related to pesticides and fertilizers products accredited by Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC). He further stated that Tara Group would now provide much better quality products to the farmers. The certificate memento of the international standards was presented at Tara Group Plant.

Turkish Airline hosts ‘agency awards’ in Karachi

KARACHI (PR): Turkish Airlines, which was already operating one daily flight from Karachi, has started one new daily flight from the city from February 29, 2016. It would now be operating 14 weekly flights from Karachi. This was announced by General Manager Turkish Airline Fatih Atacan Temel while speaking at Turkish Airline’s annual agency awards for the year 2015 in Karachi.

He said that Turkish Airlines is celebrating its 35th anniversary and it has started one new daily flight from Karachi. He informed that in 2015, 82500 people travelled inbound and outbound Karachi through the airline. He recalled that in 2013 Turkish airline was operating just 4 flights a week but in March 2014 it became a daily flight and now there would be two flights from Karachi every day.

He informed that Turkish Airline’s market share has increased from 17% to 22% in Europe and onwards that resulted into two daily flights from Karachi.

Turkish Airline hosts annual Agency Awards every year. These awards are given to airline’s top travel agents in Karachi in appreciation of their continue business support and recognition of their commitment to Turkish Airline in the city.
