Pak-Sri Lanka relations helped identifying new bilateral cooperation: Fatemi

Islamabad: Pakistan attaches great importance with Sri Lanka and recent leadership-level interactions between the two sides have helped identifying new areas of bilateral cooperation between the two sides, said a press release issued today.

This was said by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi while talking to newly arrived High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Major Gen. (R) Jayanath Lokuketagodage who paid a courtesy call at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Fatemi briefed the Sri Lankan High Commissioner regarding the achievements of the Government in the field of counter-terrorism, as well as with regard to economy and good governance.

Ambassador Lokuketagodage thanked the Special Assistant for the warm welcome accorded to him in Pakistan, and expressed his resolve to continue working closely with the Government of Pakistan to retain the positive trajectory of relations between the two countries.
