ISLAMABAD: Chinese President Xi Jinping is highly acclaimed in Pakistan since his leadership gave a new dimension to Sino-Pak friendship mainly through economic corridor project, that is being described as fate-changing move ensuring a better life to the people.

He has been hailed as the Statesman of the Year 2015 by Pakistani media, highlighting his contributions to global peace and development and his inclination towards Pakistan and other developing countries.

In a one and a half month open-ended survey conduct recently, about 84.3 percent of the respondents declared Xi as the "Role Model Statesman of the Year 2015. The survey’s finding was proximately displayed in China Daily on Friday.

President Xi Jinping is a great leader with a vision and fresh ideas, the advisor to Pakistan Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said while commenting on the survey.

"Pakistan China Economic Corridor (CPEC) will prove a milestone in the growing unique friendly relations between the two countries," he added.

During Xi's historic state visit to Pakistan in April, the bilateral relationship was lifted to the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership and opened the CPEC projects that will cover the fields of energy, transportation and the infrastructure developments in Pakistan.

Former ambassador to China Khalid Mahmood said that Xi enjoys great stature that cannot be attributed to anyone else in the world, and Xi's emphatic foreign policy has won China prestige on the international arena.

Chinese ambassador Sun Weidong thanked the people of Pakistan for their overwhelming trust in Chinese leadership and their love for his country. “We are proud of our friendship with Pakistan,” assuring that CPEC will serve as an important component of the country’s socio-economic development plan.
