LAHORE: Newly elected Senator from Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar termed the success beginning of getting power in the province.  Talking to the media after announcement of unofficial results by the election commission, he thanked PTI leadership, party men and all other supporters for reposing confidence in him.  Flanked by other party leaders and legislators, Chaudhry Sarwar expressed hope that PTI would win elections and Imran Khan would be the next Prime Minister. Jubilant legislators chanted slogans in favor of PTI Chief and against PML-N leadership.  PPP’s Central Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira expressed satisfaction over the party performance in Senate polls in Punjab. He said that PPP lacked required numbers to win any seat. Despite that, he said, PPP candidate bagged 26 votes though party strength in Punjab Assembly was merely eight members.  Referring to unexpected success in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said that PPP candidates got benefits from split in other parties. PPP bagged two seats in KPK as against strength of six MPAs. –Staff Reporter
