When London Police made a mountain out of a molehill and arrested 10 Pakistani students for involvement in a terror plot, all Pakistanis were concerned. The British media showed a video of their arrest time and again with their faces blurred. The entire world opinion was moved against Pakistan and that is apparently what the incident was created for - to prove that Pakistan is 'the epicenter of world terrorism' - a term coined by India after the infamous Mumbai terror attack on 26 November, 2008. After Mumbai terror attack, India was all out to prove that Pakistan is a terrorist state. Then, we had the attack on Sri Lanka cricket team in Lahore and another one on Police Academy in Manawan and a series of incidents in Balochistan, FATA and Swat. The investigations of these incidents are not complete but the indications are that Indian intelligence agencies are fully involved. Immediately after the London incident, I knew it for certain that India must have misled the British intelligence in the arrest of these 10 students. It turned out this was also a staged hoax very like we have in Pakistan in which our police frames the innocents in a bomb or heroin case and even recovers the 'evidence; from their houses. The British government, as a gesture of goodwill, should apologize from the government of Pakistan and families of the framed Pakistani students in this fiasco. -MUHAMMAD AZHAR KHWAJA, Lahore, via e-mail, April 23.
