KHYBER AGENCY - At least seven armed persons of banned Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) and a member of Zakha Khel tribe lashkar were killed in shelling by the forces in remote area of Bazaar Zekha Khel on Tuesday, local administrations official sources informed. The sources said that the security forces gunship choppers in their aerial strikes carried out in Khar Ghot area of Bazaar targeted suspected hideouts of LI. However, identification of LI deceased could not be ascertained while the Zakhakhel tribe Lashkar member killed in the attack was identified as Hussain while the injured Hikmat and Ali Zar of Zakhakhel tribe got bullets injuries, who were brought to Landikotal Headquarters Hospital for treatment. It may be added here that dozens of tribals have so far been killed and hundreds of families have left the area during the past one-and-a-half months clashes between the two rival groups in Bazaar valley. Meanwhile, four more NATO tankers were gutted in a blast close to the Torkham border Monday night, Torkham administration sources told. As per reports Monday night an explosive device installed by unknown militants to one of the tankers parked in Torkham exploded and oil in the tanker caught fire. Soon after the blast the fire spread and engulfed other three tankers carrying NATO assignments, the sources told. Getting information, the administration moved to the spot and launched efforts to extinguish the fie.
