ISLAMABAD - After the adoption of the resolution in the favour of Southern Punjab province in the National Assembly, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader tabled the documents in the National Assembly, Senate and Sindh Assembly to form South Punjab and Hazara provinces.

“The passage of resolution for Southern Punjab is a welcoming sign and now soon a resolution for Hazara province will be brought in the House,” said Dr Farooq Sattar while talking to the media after the adoption of the two resolutions in the National Assembly.

To a question about the resolution in the favour of Southern Punjab province, he said that now the Punjab Assembly (PA) should accept this challenge as it is up to them.

“Now the ball is in the Punjab Assembly’s court,” he maintained. To a question whether ANP would support the resolution regarding Hazara province, he said that the Prime Minister had assured his party to bring this resolution in the National Assembly. “Now the responsibility rests with the Prime Minister,” he added.
