Shahbaz vows to continue fight against guilty Gilani

GUJRANWALA - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has reiterated resolve to continue fight for rule of law, saying PML-N will carry on its movement against convicted Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. “The constitution is being ridiculed as a convicted prime minister is holding the office,” he told a public gathering after inaugurating harvesting of wheat at village Manzoorabad near Wazirabad tehsil of Gujranwala Thursday. The Chief Minister said the corruption of federal government had made Pakistan “a begging country” and “for few dollars, permission to kill innocent people’ had been given. He said Pakistan was achieved as a result of numerous sacrifices under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah but the present corrupt rulers have ruined it. He laid stress on forging unity to oust the corrupt rulers, saying: “If we want to transform the country into Jinnah’s Pakistan, we will have to launch struggle under PML-N President Nawaz Sharif. The Chief Minister said that only PML-N has the ability to put the country on the road to progress. He said the image of country will be restored at international level by making it Pakistan of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Shahbaz said the country is facing energy crisis due to poor policies of federal government whereas massive corruption was committed in providing chemical fertilisers to farmers at inflated rates. He took a swipe at President Asif Ali Zardari and his ‘agents’ for, what he called, Zardari’s agents have been fleecing farmers as they had increased production costs. He said such a revolution would be brought with the power of the people as a result of which Pakistan will become an Islamic welfare state and all basic amenities would be available to the masses. He paid tribute to growers for working in tough conditions, saying:  “The farmers achieved record wheat crop by running tube-wells with costly diesel and purchasing fertilisers at inflated price from the commission agents of Zardari which is commendable.”  Shahbaz said the Punjab government distributed 20,000 tractors among farmers in a transparent manner during the last two years which were playing an important role in agriculture development.Earlier, the CM inaugurated harvesting of wheat by driving harvester and congratulated the farmers. He asked the nation to march forward with commitment so that the dream of a welfare state could be materialised.
