LAHORE – Yu Slim, Mughalpura Whites and Mughalpura Institute scored victories in the LCCA Sprite Cricket League here at the various grounds of the city.
In the first match of day, Yu Slim crushed Young Model Town Club by nine wickets in Imtiaz Academy Ground. Young Model Town, batting first, were all out for 120 in 40.5 overs. Shahroze Masood scored 26 runs. Haider Butt grabbed 4-17 and Baber Azam 2-25. Yu Slim, in reply, achieved the target for the loss of one wicket. Test cricketer M Yousaf scored unbeaten 75 runs.
At LCCA ground, Mughalpura Whites defeated Imtiaz Club by four wickets. Imtiaz Club, batting first, scored 198 all out in 47.3 overs. Qaiser Iqbal made 93 runs while Asim Butt 35. M Ishtiaq clinched 6-43. In reply, Mughalpura Whites chased the target for the loss of six wickets in 32.4 overs. Zain ul Hasnain remained unbeaten with 112 runs while Nasir made 55. Ishtiaq was named man of the match.
At Griffin ground, Mughalpura Institute edged out Universal Club by four wickets. Batting first, Universal Club were all out for 212 in 47.2 overs with Roni Gill scoring 61 runs and Khawaja Zuraiz 57. Tariq Hussain took 3-42, Imran Akram 3-25 and Shahid Khan 3-38. Mughalpura Institute, in reply, chased the target for the loss of six wickets in 44.5 overs. Irfan Ali made 47, Rizwan Naz scored unbeaten 38 and Shahid Khan 37. Shahid Khan was declared man of the match. At Ittefaq Cricket Ground, City Gymkhana and Ghulam Qadir Club match ended in a draw. Ghulam Qadir, batting first, scored 215 runs all out and in reply, City Gymkhana were all out on 215.
