A trial court on Friday postponed till May 14, 2013 the hearing in former premier Benazir Bhutto (BB) murder case because of the assassination of FIA Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar Hussain in Islamabad.

Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi Number 1 Special Judge Chaudhry Habib-ur-Rehman deferred the proceeding in BB murder case without any further development owing to killing of the prosecutor of the agency probing the high profile case.

Meanwhile, Barrister Salman Safdar, contesting the case on behalf of the military ruler and former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, also filed a petition with the court seeking exemption of his client’s presence in the court because of security threat. The court accepted the application.

In the previous hearing, the court ordered FIA to include Musharraf in the investigation of the case; submit the complete chellan in the court and to produce the accused as well.
