LAHORE - Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, in a statement issued here on Friday said that PML-N has been behaving itself as the political wing of TTP due to Nawaz Sharif’s lack of condemnation of the cold-blooded murders of 70 election related killings of PPP, ANP and MQM workers and leaders by TTP.

In a Press release issued here, he further said that the TTP had been on killing spree of workers of the moderate parties and also not allowing PPP, ANP and MQM to conduct election campaign whereas the PML-N has been spared to have a free hand so far the election campaign is concerned. How ironic that Sharif brothers have not been criticising TTP for the provision of level playing field to all political opponents, he questioned.

He said that the Sharifs have not learnt from the history and they are repeating the history by taking the side of anti-democratic forces.

They should re-write the history instead and express solidarity with the democratic forces and reject terrorism and extremism in all its forms and manifestations, Wattoo stated.

He said that the heart of the people of Pakistan goes out to the families whose siblings have been killed by the TTP during the election trail except the Sharif brothers who had neither condemned the cowardice acts of TTP nor have extended sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families.

He further said that the people of Pakistan were against terrorism and extremism and they had clearly identified who were patrons and supporters of terrorists and who were their opponents.

He recalled that Nawaz Sharif during last days of his Prime Ministership  managed to move an amendment bill to declare himself as Amir-ul-Momineen but it could not be passed in the Senate due to the opposition of the Senators of democratic leanings who were in majority in the House. It amply manifested his mind-set which was no different than Taliban, he said.

He expressed the confidence that the people of Pakistan would pass judgment in favour of those who had been striving for making the country a democratic welfare state as envisioned by the Founder of the Nation, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Those who are for enforcing theocracy under the shadow of gun will be rejected for all times to come, he concluded.
