PTI postpones Faisalabad rally after women harassment

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has postponed May 8 public meeting in Faisalabad, after women harassment issue surfaced in Lahore and Islamabad.

Imran Khan said that Punjab Police failed to protect the participants from PML-N goons. Imran added, “We will ensure exemplary punishment for those who harassed women at the rally.”

(PTI) Women Wing today passed the buck on the Punjab government for the incident of mistreatment with women in the PTI Lahore gathering, held on Sunday.

One of the victims of sexual harassment at Sunday’s rally had submitted, an application in a police station against Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and held the Punjab government responsible for the mistreatment of women.

The victim said that security arrangements made by the party were very good. 10-12 unknown people showed up and created all the mess. Video evidence can be provided for the identification of the culprits. The Punjab government is responsible for what happened, because they did not provide foolproof security, she said, while addressing a press conference at the chairman secretariat in Lahore.
