Energy conservation in SME sector

LAHORE - SMEDA and National Energy Conservation Centre (ENERCON) have entered into an agreement to promote energy conservation in SME sector. The document of MoU was signed by Shahid Rashid, CEO SMEDA and Fareed Ullah Khan, MD, ENERCON at SMEDA head office. According to the MOU, SMEDA agreed to conduct energy audits in two major sub-sectors of Textile Industry i.e. "Spinning and Processing" as a consultant of ENERCON. Energy Audit is the first step of the project in which energy wastages will be highlighted and recommendations for energy conservation along with process improvement will be provided. In addition, as per the requirement, SMEDA may hire professional resources to strengthen the staff and its capacity to carry out detailed Energy Audits. A detailed Energy Audit is a compreensive survey of all energy consuming equipments and process in a plant, followed by a detailed analysis of various systems.
