LAHORE - Pilots community has condemned the sacking of their peer by the management without giving any proper reason on Wednesday. A retired Captain of PIA Capt. Nayyer Nazir said that his colleague has had 19 years and 07 months of service. He would has been entitled to get retirement and its benefits and privileges just after further 5 months service, had he decided to leave himself. But no reason was given for his termination. He was served with no show cause notice and given no opportunity to clarify or defend himself. If the management had any grievances against him, he was not told. He had an unblemished record. This action was apparently meant to terrorise the rest of the community. Earlier, Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA) President Sohail Baloch in a press conference said that PALPA has filed petition in Sindh High Court to get justice since they dont believe that management would provide them justice. He said that management has become bankrupt. Instead of promoting commercial interest of the airline, it has bent upon ruining national assets just to serve ego of few influential executives, he said adding that millions of rupees have been wasted on training and development of human resource just to appease ego of dictatorial management by sacking a senior pilot of 19 years experience without assigning reasons and giving proper hearing.
