LONDON: British director Joe Cornish - best known for the cult horror film Attack the Block - is reportedly poised to take over where JJ Abrams left off on the Star Trek franchise. Cornish - who found fame as the comedy partner of funnyman Adam Buxton before making the move into movies - is reported to be top of the wish list for the job, according to the website. He won praise for Attack The Block, which told the story of a group estate youths who have to defend themselves against an alien invasion. Since then Cornish has furthered his film career as co-writer of Spielberg's blockbuster The Adventures of Tin-Tin.–Metro
