PESHAWAR - Spokesman FATA Democratic Movement (FDM) Gul Nawaz Khan said that despite the lapse of 66 yeas since independence the constitution of the country could not extended to FATA while the tribal people have been left on the mercy of terrorism and laws of FCR.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said that political administration, politicians, army and judiciary are equally responsible for the miseries of tribal people.

He said that there is no representation of tribal people in the provincial assemblies while it has also been ignored in local bodies' elections, which is totally injustice with people of FATA.

He said that militants have deprived the tribal people of their basic health units, schools, colleges, hujras, mosques and other basic facilities but despite this media coverage has been banned by the government in these tribal agencies. He said that several poor and innocent people have been arrested under collective responsibility act without any reason.

He disclosed the funds of non-government organisation are being used at the hands of corrupt political administration, which mostly go to the pockets of political agents and other high-ups of the agency.

Regarding natural resources in tribal areas, Gul Nawaz Khan said that despite plentiful resources in tribal areas, the people of FATA are doing jobs in foreign countries where they hardly earn their livelihood but the resources in their own country have not been fully utilised to generate employment opportunities.

He urged the government to search out the hidden resources of FATA and use these resources for the benefits of tribal people. He also stressed the government to increase the salaries of security forces who are performing their duties in war zone.

He appealed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Army Chief Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Chief Justice of Pakistan to resolve their problems as how long the tribal people will bear these atrocities.
