PESHAWAR - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Tuesday said that it has been decided to make Board of Governor (BoG) autonomous at all hospitals to improve health services at government hospitals in KP.

He, however, said that a handful of senior doctors have challenged the government’s decision in court of law but KPK government would fight the case in the court and implement the decision to provide best health care facilities to the people.

He said that the provincial government has made the hospital autonomous by appointing board of governors, who are empowered to take independent decisions.

Khan made it clear to expose those doctors and paramedics mafia who are opposing government’s health reforms policy.

He said this while speaking at a news conference at Chief Minister House. It was his first public appearance after parting ways with his ex wife Rehman Khan last week.

Flanked by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak, and Advisor to the CM on Information Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani and Health Minister Shahram Khan Taraki, Imran Khan warned that youth of the PTI would hold demonstration in front of those doctor’s houses who are resisting the health reforms.

Moreover, he said that his party and KPK government would even make the names of those doctors public who opposed the government’s decision to make the hospitals autonomous.

He said that majority of the doctors are supporting the new health law, but few have taken stay orders from the court.

The PTI Chairman said that KPK Assembly has passed an act three months ago, but the mafia were creating hurdles by taking stay orders.

PTI Chairman said that in KPK there are around one million people who were visiting hospitals in a year, so the PTI government has established monitoring system in health sector.

According to the monitoring system, 33 per cent doctors were performing their duties around six hours in hospitals, 27 per cent were performing four hours duty, 22 per cent were performing three hours, 17 per cent were performing two hours duty while 7 per cent were performing only one hour’s duty in hospitals.

He further said that Peshawar Shaukat Khanum Hospital will be completed in December this year and so far around 3 billion rupees were spent on the hospital.

Imran Khan also appreciated the performance of Wild Life Department and said that they freed precious eagles today worth of million rupees.

He further said that according to the Billion Trees tsunami so far around 27 million trees were cultivated across the province, adding that soon journalist will visit those areas where these plantations were held.

He informed that it was the PTI’s pressure that the federal government held LG polls in Punjab and Sindh.

At one stage, PTI Chairman Imran Khan infuriated and lashed out at a reporter who attempted to enquire about his recent divorce with her-ex-wife Reham Khan.

“Those talking about someone’s personal life should be ashamed,” Khan said replied furiously.

“There are some ethics. No one should ask personal questions,” he said.
