Fair, critical analysis can help improve affairs of judiciary: LHC CJ

LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Saturday said that judges should come with open, fair and critical analysis so that judicial and administrative governance could be improved.

The CJ expressed these views while addressing district and sessions judges here at Punjab Judicial Academy.
He said that it was a historical moment in judicial history being first ever that Districts and Sessions Judges were making power point presentation to Chief Justice regarding the overall performance of their districts.

Earlier, Directorate of District Judiciary Director-General explained that for the provision of inexpensive and speedy relief to litigant public, the Chief Justice orchestrated a number reform measures like CMP, ADR Courts, Model Courts etc.
Case Management Plan had been tailored according to needs and dynamics of individual districts.

For monitoring of District performance, each district had been placed before Judge of Lahore High Court as Inspection Judge. He further stated that newly appointed Senior Civil Judges (Administrative) will give performance report of Process Serving Agency of their Districts.

Thereafter District & Sessions of Districts Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Gujranwala, Multan and Rawalpindi made power point presentation of the performance of their Districts. Powerpoint presentation revolves around Case Management Plan, Judges& Staff, Institution, Pendency & Disposal of cases, the performance of ADR & Model courts, utilization of Budgets, the performance of judges. Registrar Lahore High Court was also present at the meeting.

In another development, guide maps had been established in the Lahore High Court on the directions of Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah. The guide maps would help lawyers and litigants know about offices and relevant blocks.
