"We have a single mission to protect and hand on the planet to the next generation"

–Francois Hollande, President of France

The Climate Change agreement, also known as the Paris Agreement was signed in April of 2016. However, the agreement came in to effect on 4th of November of the same year. It is revolutionary in the sense that the agreement is legally binding on all signatories.  The accord is within the ambit of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The purpose is to keep the global temperature in check. Emission of green house gases will be monitored as well. The overarching purpose of the agreement is to mitigate the effects of global warming, whereby ensuring a safer future for coming generations. The agreement resonates with the needs of the world especially temperate zone countries like Pakistan which are experiencing the brunt climate change.
