GUJRAT-The faculty and staff of the University of Gujrat (UoG) sub-campus in Lahore were provided an opportunity by UoG's Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) to get a peep into HEC-guided agenda for quality assurance at a two-day workshop which ended here at Liaqat Auditorium on Friday.
The main objective of the workshop was to acquaint the faculty with the monitoring body's modus operandi in implementing HEC rules for quality assurance and management of higher education in the country.
Addressing the participants, Director QEC Rashid Saeed gave an overview of the standards, procedures and guidelines provided by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and followed by the QEC for quality education at universities.
"We keep tabs on the get-goings through a host of activities such as preparing assessment reports, course files as well as conducting and upholding the integrity of examinations - as part of the all-encompassing role of QEC in higher education institutions," Rashid Saeed said.
Chairman UoG sub-campus Lahore Mian Farhat Ali presided over the opening session of the workshop. Director sub-campus Dr Muzaffar Abbas thanked the QEC director for providing the faculty an insight into QEC's major role in implementation of HEC principles for quality assurance.
The event was coordinated by deputy director QEC Azmat Farooq Ahmad.
