SHEIKHUPURA-Five persons died and three others suffered injuries in a head-on collision between a van and passenger bus on Gujranwala Road near Baig Pur on Friday, Rescue 1122 confirmed.
The police and rescue sources said that poor visibility due to thick smog was the reason behind the accident.
The deceased were identified as Akram, Mushtaq, Abdul Sattar and two others while the three injured were taken to nearby hospital.
As many as 1,850 Sikh Yatrees arrived in Sacha Sauda Gurdawara to perform their religious rites, some 16km away from here amid tight security.
The Yatree leader Sardar Gurmeet Singh while talking to media persons expressed satisfaction and pleasures on the hospitality and security by the Pakistani government. Later the visitors after staying for about two hours returned to Nankana Sahib.

Toxic wine kills 2; three critical

SARGODHA-Two persons died and three others including a girl were rushed to hospital allegedly after consuming poisonous wine here in suburban village Mitha Lak in the jurisdiction of Saddr Police.
According to police, Furqan, 22, his sister Khateeja,16, and his friend Nasir Maken, 25, along with others were allegedly busy consuming wine at Furqan's house. As they consumed the wine, their condition deteriorated. Two of them - Furqan and Nasir Maken breathed their last on the way to hospital while the three others were admitted to District Headquarters Teaching Hospital Sargodha. Police sources claimed that deceased Nasir Maken used to visit his friend Furqan's house for drinking wine. Police seized wine and launched investigation. The dead bodies have been shifted to hospital for autopsy.
