LWMC resumes zero waste operation

LAHORE - Senior Minister Local Government Aleem Khan cancelled Lahore Waste Management Company Sunday holiday of all LWMC staff including officers and workers and directed to complete ‘Zero Waste Operation’ in city.
LWMC lifts nearly 6 to 7 thousand tons of waste daily from the city which was not lifted in last three days due to uncertain law and order situation due to protests in city. The dysfunctional LWMC has resumed operation on Saturday to avoid further problems for city.
MD LWMC will monitor Zero Waste Operation in the city and also allocated duties of senior management in nine towns of the city to ensure effective cleanliness operation.
LWMC operations in the city were halted due to uncertain law and order situation in the city.
All staff of LWMC is participating in Zero waste operation, in which entire work force and field machinery is deployed in the city to go extra mile for clearing backlog of waste.
MD LWMC visited multiple areas of the city to ensure proper functioning of zero waste operation.
GM Operations LWMC Sohail Malik said LWMC will complete its Zero Waste Operation within given 48 hours.
