Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has said that the martyrdom of Maulana Samiul Haq closed a valuable chapter of struggle for the enforcement of religion and patriotism.

While talking to the media at the funeral of the departed leader in Akora Khattak on Sunday, Liaqat Baloch said that Maulana Samiul Haq was an intelligent, prudent and brave leader who had been anxious for safeguarding the Islamic ideology. He said that the assassination of prominent personalities always caused unrest, uncertainty and instability in the country.

The JI secretary general said that he had the opportunity to have worked with Maulana Samiul Haq at different forums including Mutahida Shariat Mahaz, MMA, and Difa e Pakistan Council and the deceased had the capability to unite the people and groups on national, religious and international issues.

Baloch said that the large gathering at the funeral of the deceased proved his popularity among the people and the political and religious circles.
