Court repeats arrest warrants of four cops

KARACHI - Additional District and Sessions Judge (East) Sanaullah Ghori on Saturday repeated none bail-able warrants against four police officials in the case of killing an accused in police custody, while DSP Abdul Hafeez was granted bail in this case from the high court. After the constantly absence of four police officials including, Inspector Hadi Bukhsh Memon, sub inspector Chaudhry Javid Akhtar, SIs Malik Mohammad Ashraf and Aftab Ahmed, the court repeated the warrants against them and also directed the police to make them appear before the court in the next hearing to be held on October 10. They were nominated in the case of killing an accused Kishan Kumar in the lockup of Shah Faisal Police Station. However, DSP Abdul Hafeez, who was also nominated in the same case has been granted bail from Sindh High Court on 1st of October against a solvent surety of Rs 0.5 million, while he along with his council Amin Mansoor Advocate appeared before the court where they submitted the copy of his bail. It is worth noting that the police officials were charged for killing Kumar during their custody on 4 November, 2008, the FIR No 794/2008 was registered against them on the complaint of Feromal brother of the deceased resident of Civil Lines Jinnah Road. The complain submitted that his brother owned a super store, while the police arrested him in the case of murder of Asath Kumar on October 3 2009 and lodged a case under section 302/34 PPC against him.
