KARACHI - Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has planned to carry out terrorist attacks in Karachi by dispatching some dozen trained militants with a target to kidnap Jews and Chinese in Pakistan. According to report on Saturday, National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) has sent a letter to Provincial Police Officer Sindh, City Police Chief, and DG Rangers Sindh ahead of the possible terrorist attacks. The communique further revealed that TTP has dispatched approximately 10 to 12 militants in Karachi to kidnap wealthy Jews to bargain for their detained accomplices. It explained that TTP in retaliation to the operation Rah-e-Rast has planned to carry out terrorist activities across the county to sabotage the government. Another similar communique warned that TTP have planned to kidnap wealthy persons from Karachi and also Chinese people working in Karachi. The letter further specified that TTP could abduct Chinese people from the areas of Korangi Crossing and Korangi Creek during the movement of Chinese working on different projects in Karachi and Sindh. In both letters, NCMC said that further details would be provided to the department concerned. Extreme vigilance and all possible preventive measures have been directed to avoid any untoward incident. It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh police have also established a separate foreign security cell and demanded complete information of any foreigner reached Karachi. Source privy to the matter told that foreign security cell is in touch with all the foreigners present in Karachi and especially met with the concerned staff of Chinese consulate fortnightly on security issue. Source further said that there are number of militants hiding in Karachi who are hailed from NWFP and also various from Karachi. They have been working for TTP while no major incident had taken place in last couple of years. He pointed out that despite kidnapping of wealthy people TTP had not carried out any terrorist activity in Karachi for the last two years.
