Congo virus case confirmed in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI - National Institute of Health (NIH) on Wednesday confirmed Imtiaz Ahmed as Congo fever patient, who currently is under treatment at Holy family Hospital.
Muhammad Imtiaz was shifted to HFH on September 27, 2012 from Teshil Headquarter Hospital (THQ) Choha Seydan Shah, district Chakwal, as a suspect case of Congo Crimean Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF).  The doctors took her samples and sent to NIH for serology. However, the patient was lucky to have survived the infection and likely to be discharged on Friday.
According to Dr Javed Hayyat, the focal person at HFH, the administration had received the report from NIH. He said that this patient was clinically stable with no bleeding or fever, he said.
