LAHORE - Additional District and Sessions Judge Arshad Ali on Monday adjourned the post-arrest bails plea of Orient Labs Chief Executive Zaheer Iqbal and Director Zafar Iqbal, allegedly involved in factory collapse, resulting in the deaths of 26 people.

Counsel for the accused said the Section 302 did not fall in this case as the factory collapsed accidentally and no one had the intentions to collapse it. He implored the court saying why an owner of the factory would make a plan to collapse his own business.

Victim’s counsel in previous proceedings had submitted that the owners of the Orient Labs were well aware of the dilapidated factory.

After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court adjourned the hearing for October 4 (today).
