JI leader laid to rest

BAHAWALPUR - Jamaat-e-Islami District Ameer Abdul Waheed who passed away last night, has been laid to rest here.
His funeral was largely attended by the social, political and religious leaders and workers of the area including, JI Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Waseem Akhter.
On the occasion, Dr Waseem Akhter expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of the party leader and paid rich tributes to him over his remarkable contribution to the party cause.
He prayed for the departed soul and his family. Later, talking to the people, he expressed dissatisfaction over law and order and ongoing political situation in the country.
He urged the political and religious forces to forge unity for national interest.
He said that the blasphemous attempts were a big challenge for Muslims which needed early solution to curb such anti-Islam moves which were a big threat for peace in the world.
He said that no Muslim could tolerate the disgrace of religion and the sanctity of the Holy Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
