ISLAMABAD - Akhtar Hussain, vice-chairman Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Burhan Moazzam Malik, chairman executive committee, and Mohammad Ahsan Bhoon, member PBC have strongly condemned the murder of Safdar Iqbal Tarar Advocate, Phalia District Mandi Bahauddin.

Safdar Iqbal Tarar was murdered on 19th September 2012 at his residence. They lamented that despite laps of more than fifteen days the culprits have not so far been arrested which speaks of failure of police authorities of the concerned area.

They also dismayed that about nine months ago deceased Sarfraz Tarar’s brother was also murdered but the culprits are still at large and no arrest has so far been made.

Expressing their deep sense of shock on the tragic murder of Safdar Iqbal Tarar Advocate and his brother, they have severely condemned the inaction of police and other law enforcement agencies and their utter failure to arrest the culprits and to bring them before the Court of competent jurisdiction for their trial under the law.

It is most unfortunate that the target killing of Safdar Iqbal Tarar, advocate and his Brother is not the first case of its kind as in past number of Advocates were victims of target killings in Punjab as well as in other provinces.

They have, therefore, urged upon the Punjab Inspector-General of Police to look into the matter personally for arresting the murderers of Safdar Iqbal Tarar, advocate and his brother without further loss of time and to prosecute them under the law for awarding exemplary punishment as per the law.
