Punjab facilitates farmers

SARGODHA – Executive District Officer Agriculture Zafar Iqbal Mirza said that Rs1 billion would be spent on the Punjab Irrigated Agriculture Productory Improvement Programme in Sargodha district.
The Executive District Officer told the media that the main object of this project was to save precious water and to ensure its maximum use for cultivation so that per acre production could be increased.
He said that sprinkle plant (artificial rain) and dripping water to the saplings are special features of the project while the drainage system would also be consolidated to save irrigated water.
He said that in the present situation, the farmers could not afford the wastage of water due to price hike of diesel and enhanced rates of electricity.
The EDO added that laser level units had been introduced to the farmers and Punjab government provided subsidy in laser level units, sprinkle plants and dripping system.
