LAHORE - The Mehsud and other tribes of Waziristan would provide security to the PTI peace rally, said senior leader Ahsan Rasheed.

Addressing a press conference at party’s central secretariat on Wednesday regarding the peace rally, Rasheed warned that the government would be held responsible if any mishap occurred during the march. He said the government, fearing the growing popularity of the PTI, wanted to stop the peace marchers of Imran Khan.

Rasheed claimed that the process of politicisation of the tribal regions would start with the PTI peace rally and the government should facilitate the process of democratisation and peace as it claimed to be the true representative of the masses.

The PTI leader appealed to the people of Punjab for taking part in the peace rally in large numbers to express solidarity with their brethren in tribal region against the US drone attacks.

Shahid Zulfikar, Fawad Rasool, Ishtiaq Malik, Naveed, Rana Akhtar and others were also present on this occasion.
