ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have claimed they were on road to success in achieving the target of inducing traffic sense into people.
“The police delivered road safety sermons to 6,898 licence-seekers during the last two months,” a spokesman said while counting feats of the capital traffic police’s feats. Moreover, he said special teams were educating motorists.
The police are cracking down the wheelies, underage drivers and other irresponsible riders, it was also claimed.
Following the directives of Acting SSP Asmatullah Junejo, Inspector Fayaz Tanoli has been leading an awareness team comprising ASI Ghulam Muhammad, Head Constable Shakeel Ahmed and FM Radio presenter Uzma.
IGP Sikandar Hayat said his cops were endeavouring to ensure road safety by involving people. He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with traffic police and follow traffic the rules.
The acting Traffic SSP said: “His squad has been getting success due to friendly-policing culture.” He vowed to continue awareness programme for the safety of road users.
